Heidi Montag's Costa Rican Surf Lessons

While she's currently back home in the States, Heidi Montag spent the past few weeks living it up in the country of Costa Rica.

During her Central American getaway, the former "Hills" star fit in plenty of relaxation while also trying out a few new activities including surfing.

Just days before heading back to California, the blonde beauty was spotted by paparazzi in a stunning tie-dyed bikini with a starfish ornament in the middle.

Wading in the warm waters, Miss Montag had her fair share of difficulties - as she wasn't able to make it up on the surfboard before calling it quits.

The following day, Montag donned a two-toned bikini as she went for a swim, during which time she nearly lost her top.

Brody Jenner is probably used to being the man-in-charge of his relationships, but now that he's dating someone more famous than himself (and famous for something other than just being famous), he seems content to sit back and let Avril steer the boat! Well, in this case, the stand up surfboard!

The recent couple headed to Malibu for the holiday (along with every other celeb) where they took turns paddling around in the ocean and engaged in some PDA on the sand.

Brody Jenner Saves Avril After Surfing Accident

Pop punk Avril Lavigne has a real-life hero in beau Brody Jenner - 'The Hills' star saved her from drowning during a recent surfing lesson.

The Sk8er Boi hitmaker, who has been linked to Jenner since February (10), was enjoying a personal lesson from the reality TV star in Malibu, California when she was knocked off her surfboard.

But Lavigne was in safe hands - Jenner rushed over to the singer and helped her to the shore, where she recovered from the sea scare, reports America's Star magazine.

A source says, "A big wave flipped her into the water upside down. Brody swam over and dragged Avril to shore, but she'd had the wind knocked out of her - she'd swallowed a bunch of water and was coughing. When Avril realised what happened, she was so thankful Brody was there to save her."
