Interview Magazine 40th Anniversary Party

Hi loves,
Last night I attended the 40th Anniversary party for Interview Magazine. It was so much fun and I got to hang with some of the girls from People's Revolution.  I am really into onesies right now.  I paired a Rebecca Taylor jumpsuit with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and bag, and a Fenton Fallon necklace. What do you think of all my onesies recently??

xoxo,
Whit

Whitney Port: Thick Skin Is Essential In Fashion

Whitney Port's learned a lot from Kelly Cutrone over the years, but the single most important career lesson she's taken away from her? It takes thick skin to stay in the fashion biz.

"[Y]ou just can’t be afraid to fail and you can’t always listen to someone else’s criticism, the City star told NYMag.com's Daily Intelligencer yesterday. "Design is so opinion-based," she added, explaining Cutrone told her to "be ready," cause "some people are going to hate it and knock [you] and don’t let it get you down."

And if anyone knows about being harsh, it's Kelly Cutrone. The opinionated People's Revolution front lady doesn't generally make a habit of sugarcoating her critiques. "There's moments when she's really motherly," Whitney said of Cutrone, though there are also moments when Whitney admitted she's "harsh" and just wants to "criticize."

Of course, for all her stern warnings, Kelly Cutrone may just be Whitney Port's biggest fan. On the new City trailer, the normally-stoic Cutrone is seen praising Whitney for her sketches and encouraging the budding designer to pursue her dreams.

"She's been really, really great. So I have no complaints," Whitney told MTV News last weekend. "She has to be strict because that's the way she gets her business done."

Roxy Olin Prepares for Fame on The City

It took one season of The City for MTV to come to the realization that Whitney Port is kind of boring, so the network has hired Port's friend Roxy Olin to come aboard the reality show.

The daughter of actors Ken Olin and Patricia Wettig, Olin will work for People’s Revolution and move in with Whitney. She spoke to People this week about her role on the series, which premieres Tuesday.

On adjusting to life with cameras around: Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve liked to perform. I like the attention; I’ll be honest. Whitney is so used to it that I had to jump in really quickly to get as comfortable as she is. I was like, “You’re really going to wake up and go on camera right now?” I was like, “I’m going to wake up at 6 and put on a little bit of makeup.” And then you just decide to stop doing that.

On preparing for fame: They’re only showing one part of who I am. They make me out to be a little b—-, but I’m not really at all. And Whitney is one of my best friends in the world. We live together and we’re really close, and I think having that relationship with her and having her show me the way was okay. I also have my [acting job on] Brothers & Sisters that I’m doing at the same time, and I feel like I’m honoring the art that I do — and I’m doing this show where I get to have so much fun.

I don’t think it’s real. Whitney’s like, “Get ready. It’s going to hit. And it happens overnight.” And I’m like, “Yea, uh-huh, it’ll never happen,” because I’m so used to her going through it. I’m excited and a little bit nervous. I know you’re only seeing a part of myself because I still have my own life, my own privacy and my friendship with Whitney is really strong and I have someone to go through it with, and that’s really lucky.

Whitney On Kelly Cutrone: 'It's A Love-Hate Relationship'

Kelly Cutrone has frightened away many a young fashionista in her day, but Whitney Port's always been something of a golden child. Apparently, something about Whit's sweet, wide-eyed enthusiasm brought out the People's Revolution puppet master's sentimental streak. Kelly lavished her protegee with special attention, hooking her up with DVF, setting her up with male models and acting more like her surrogate mom than her wicked stepmother.

But judging by what we've seen in the new City promos, Whitney's luck may be about to change. When she caught up with the MTV News crews on the VH1 Divas carpet, Whitney admitted her relationship with Kelly has evolved into a "love-hate" situation. Hear what else the City star had to say about working for Kelly and tune in next Tuesday, Sept. 29, for the series' return.

Whitney Port Wraps Up Season 2 of “The City”

Always looking stylish, Whitney Port was spotted as she walked around the streets of New York City to film The City on Friday afternoon (September 18).

The MTV reality cutie and her gal pal, Roxy Olin, dropped by People’s Revolution in SoHo, laughing amongst one another while shooting a few scenes ahead of the second season premiere on September 29th.

And it happens to be a big day for Miss Port, as she finished up work on the latest season of her show, happily tweeting: “Wrapping production today! Ay ya yaaaaa.”

Whitney spent the previous evening checking out the VH1 Divas show alongside former co-star Lauren Conrad.

Whitney Eve Debuts At Fashion Week

Whitney Port's line, Whitney Eve, makes its Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week debut this afternoon. Regardless of whichever reality TV regulars will be showing their goods, she insists her passion for fashion is for real (and not just reality TV).

"Living in New York and being part of the entertainment industry, obviously fashion plays a huge role in that, so all of us find passions within that," she tells E! News. "I pretty much always knew I wanted to be a designer, but I just took some shortcuts along the way and am finally being able to do what I've always wanted. So, television aside, I really am living out my dream."

The leggy starlet will be the first of the Hills hotties' lines—Lauren Conrad and that other girl are also "designers"—to participate in America's biggest couture carnival. Her inspiration, she says, is a word she made up: "funderland." "We're doing kind of like Alice in Wonderland goes to a really chic cocktail party," she explains. "It's really fun and playful and feminine and flirty."

She admits the pressure is high, especially since she's entering the big show right out the gate.

"It's very, very intimidating, but awesome at the same time," she says. "I'm putting myself out there for a lot of judgment and a lot of opinions, so I just have to be confident in my line and work as hard as I can and then know that, in the end, as long as I did the best that I could, that's what matters.

"The stakes are really, really high. I think what helped me out a little bit is that I'm actually doing a group show with [fellow People's Revolution clients] Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman, so I feel like it takes a little bit of the pressure off. We can kind of all be a backbone for each other and support system."

She may also have a little support from Conrad, whom, Whitney says, is trying to make it to NYC in time for the show.

Whitney Works Her Way To Labor Day Weekend

Getting an early start to the day as she readies for a little Labor Day weekend relaxation, Whitney Port was spotted out with a friend in New York City on Friday (September 4).

The MTV reality star and her gal pal strolled the city streets before stopping for a morning beverage, then taking a seat on the cafe’s outdoor patio - where they chatted and gave one another a high five during the day’s filming session.

Meanwhile, Miss Port recently saw the release of the trailer for the new season of her reality show, The City, during which we see Whitney at her new job at People’s Revolution, as well as hanging out with a new guy named Freddie.

The show comes back to the air with Season 2 episodes beginning on September 29th on MTV.

New Job, New Guy for Whitney Port on The City

A new trailer for The City proves there will be big changes for Whitney Port when the show returns to MTV on Sept. 29.

First of all, her former boss Kelly Cutrone has made Whitney an offer she can’t refuse, to come back to People’s Revolution in New York, working “five, six hours a day” while at the same time working on her own fashion line.

Meanwhile, her former nemesis coworker at Diane Von Furstenberg, Olivia Palermo, is turning her promotion into a new job at Elle, where she’s already clashing with Erin Kaplan, a PR director for the fashion mag.

Since her days on The Hills, Whitney has always been focused on a career in fashion, but there will be two big distractions for her as season 1 continues. First, a pal from Los Angeles, Roxy Olin, has arrived at the doorstep of Whitney’s new West Village apartment, looking for a place to stay and a new job.

Second, of course, is a new guy. With Jay Lyon in her past, Whitney is single and hanging out with a cute new guy named Freddy.
