Showing up for her scheduled court appearance, Lindsay Lohan was spotted arriving at the Santa Monica, CA courthouse on Tuesday (February 8).

The “Mean Girls” actress looked a bit somber as she was escorted inside the building by a security guard while the on-hand shutterbugs snapped away.

Spencer Pratt: Why Heidi Filed for Divorce

Heidi Montag filed for divorce from Spencer Pratt Friday in Santa Monica, Calif. Superior Court.

"Well, some say if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Heidi couldn't handle King Spencer's fame so she got out of the marriage," Pratt, 26, tells Us Magazine.

Montag, 23, cites irreconcilable differences in her petition. She filed for legal separation from Pratt in June.

The Hills stars wed in April 2009.

So will they reconcile?

"This breakup is the latest part of Spencer's master plan," an insider recently told Us Weekly, explaining that the couple is in panic mode now that their MTV reality show has wrapped up. Another source adds that duo is "laughing over" the breakup headlines "and having a blast."

Heidi Montag's Didn't Tell Her Dad About Split

Heidi Montag marched to a courtroom in Santa Monica and handwrote her marriage separation forms on Tuesday, and didn’t even tell her father what she was up to.

When asked if he talked to Heidi about the filing, Bill Montag told Radar Online: “No, I haven’t.”

He went on to say, “I have not been in touch with her vocally about any of this, so I don’t know what’s really going on.”

Heidi Montag Files For Legal Separation

Heidi Montag is reportedly another step closer to getting the alone time (with Jen Bunney and the Shannon twins) she says she needs. Either that or she heard what I said about not believing anything until it was legal. I'd put money on the later assumption.

The reality star, 23, filed for legal separation from her G. I. Jackass husband Spencer Pratt at a Santa Monica courthouse on Tuesday, listing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

But Montag did not file divorce papers. According to reports, filing for legal separation means the reality star’s earnings will become her separate property beginning on the date of separation, which she lists as June 8. The Hills star's papers do not list a lawyer. 

A spokesperson for the Santa Monica Courthouse was unaware of Heidi's visit this morning.
